How to: Increase logon speed when connecting to an ISP.
In the 'Dial-Up Networking' window, right-click the connection icon and select 'Properties'. Click the 'Server Types' tab and clear the 'Log on to network' check box. In the 'Allowed network protocols' group, clear the 'NetBEUI' check box and the 'IPX/SPX Compatible' check box. Click 'OK'.
1) Double-click the 'My Computer' icon on the Windows 98/Me desktop. (The 'My Computer' window opens.)
2) Double-click the 'Dial-Up Networking' icon. (The 'Dial-Up Networking' window opens.)
3) Right-click the desired connection icon and select 'Properties'. (The <connection> dialog box appears, where <connection> is the name of the selected connection icon.)
4) Click the 'Server Types' tab.
5) In the 'Advanced Options' group, clear the 'Log on to network' check box.
6) In the 'Allowed network protocols' group, clear the 'NetBEUI' check box and the 'IPX/SPX Compatible' check box.
7) Click 'OK'.
8) To close the 'Dial-Up Networking' window, select the 'File' menu and select 'Close'.
9) If necessary, select the 'File' menu and select 'Close' to close the 'My Computer' window.
